A smoky car is the worst, bar none!

The British Medical Association’s call for a ban on smoking in cars has drawn comment from MPs and the smokers’ lobby.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Smoking and Health pointed out that policing the ban could be difficult, while Simon Clark, the director of Forest, the smokers’ lobby group, asked: “What next, a ban on smoking in the home?”

Many of us would think that Mr Clark’s question pointed the way forward – but, of course, as the MPs would tell you, policing would be a problem…

Note: The doctors made their call based on research showing that the concentration of toxins is much higher in a car full of smokers than in a smoky bar.
